Should You Weigh Yourself Every Day?
It depends on what you are doing right now.
When daily weigh-ins help
If you are in an active fat loss phase, or an active muscle gain phase with very specific goals, weigh in every day. Not because any single number matters, but because the trend does.
Weigh yourself once every two weeks and you might land on a day when you are high or low from body water, hormones, or what you ate yesterday. That gives you a false reading, and you end up changing things you did not need to change. Daily numbers smooth that out.
When you can skip it
Outside of a specific, performance-minded phase, you do not need to. At all.
Honestly, I think the scale is a terrible metric for most people. These tell you more:
- How your clothes fit
- Your waist measurement
- How you look in the mirror
- How you feel walking around in your body
The scale is a tool for chasing very specific goals. For everything else, it is mostly noise.
